The Utah Jazz seemed like a squad that had been walking through the desert for weeks without water or like a group stuck in a room that was losing air. They needed a win and information technology didn't affair who the opponent was or what players were available. They just needed a sense of taste of victory so that they could breathe again.
"To get a win like that," Mike Conley said, "sometimes that's all you need to go back on track."
Once once more the Jazz were dealing with a shorthanded roster. On Wednesday night they were without Donovan Mitchell (concussion), Rudy Gobert (left dogie strain), Joe Ingles (left ACL tear), Hassan Whiteside (lower back strain), Jordan Clarkson (right knee soreness), Danuel Firm (wellness and safety protocol) and their head charabanc Quin Snyder (wellness and safety protocol).
That's not exactly a list that inspires conviction. Simply afterwards only winning 4 games over the concluding month and riding a five-game losing streak into Wed night's matchup against the Denver Nuggets, the Jazz were ready for the fight.
